Activities for housewives

started by sri vani m 6 mnths ago
Hi,

I am a housewife living in Arizona. I want to work but there arent enough opportunities in my field in the place I live. So I compromised to live as a housewife. But I am pretty bored and sometimes I feel very lonely. Can anyone give me suggestions for killing time?

Thanks,
Sri Vani

respected madam
You can visit Library and read lot of books and you can write your own book of your choice in near future
you may know that books are one of the best friend

I think it's really tough leaving a demanding career and being a stay at home mom.

I did that too - and I know - stay at home mom job is far more demanding - taking care of kids, home and the big "baby" too -

But I think now I feel less stressful since my kids started full time school and I have time for MYSELF -

I remember I did not even have time to take a shower - I just had to drizzle in water & come right back out - Phew gone are those days - I will not miss them.

As far as activities - I enjoyed going to the library - in hopes that I can read up and advance myself in career once I decide to go back - and I think that was the best thing I did for myself.

Oh..cut the formal chit chat BS...

How often you do you travel NYC sitting in Austin ? If you are one of those who travel on work you will hardly have any time to play tennis... that too in Newww Yorrrkkkk City ?

In fact, we have more chances of playing tennis... how about fixing a date....I will even let you win....;)

Upps watched too many Desperate Housewives. Or what's that new show called? cigarette something?
Uppili posted Re:Activities for housewives on 6 mnths ago
I have heard about the show..but never watched a full show.... I go home very late usually..... so no chance for any of those (feminine) luxuries.

lol - ye I've been to Texas once - maybe on my next trip

I think the housing over there was very affordable - and you get so much SPACE - lack of space here in NY - but I still love NY life.

As someone below has suggested look into volunteering at the library, local pre-schools etc. There is also the option  of signing  up  at  the local  junior  college/  adult  school either to pick  up  a  new  skill  or  for  fun.

:))))) Hey... somebody has got to do the "dirty job."

Don't tell me you live in the 4th City... In that case, the only business you can have is a Lemonade Stand.

what is your field, if you don't mind? there might be opportunities in your field you don't know about, but other people on this forum might know.

Here are some suggestions:

1) Work at a preschool or elementary school , or substitute
2) Babysitting
3) Volunteer at your local library
4) Offer to give a free cooking class, people want to learn Indian cuisine
5) Write a book, or any form of creative expression (painting, dance)
6) Get on the internet and take a course online
