I've observed kids traveling alone. Usually, flight attendants are excellent care takers during long trips / international trips (as long as they are instructed or are aware )... Just make sure that your daughter is alert (money and passport / official documents need to be with her at all times...and I mean ALL times!) ...she should be fine. Please make sure she travels light. The less stuff she carries - the easier it will be and the safer she will be.
She'z a teenager - I'm sure she enjoys to listen to ipods / cds/ music - please make sure she isnt in her own world ....when flight attendants make annoucements or airport makes annoucements...(this is where kids sometimes miss out or are MIA...missing in action).
Make sure she is hydrated and has cash in case she needs food or needs to make couple of calls. Do not load her with too much money - as it can her into trouble.
if she is on any prescriptions - please make sure she carries her paperwork with her.

Well, Heathrow airport has a kids’ zone at their new BA terminal, which will surely interest your child. Skyflyers Solo customers will have their own departure and arrival zone, which has a lot of entertainment services.

Yeah, Skyflyers Solo are children who travel alone. Well, the new terminal is designed to make traveling much easier for kids and adults alike.. There are a lot of restaurants which cater to children.. so food is not a problem for these kids..

Yeah, there are restaurants like Giraffe, Huxleys, Carluccios and Wagamamas which have a lot of fun foods..
There are six lounges within the new British Airways terminal: The Concorde Room, The First class lounge, three Club Lounges and an Arrivals Lounge.
