No - you may not save on compulsory travel
Yes - one should feel guilty to travel on holidays, but not for oily reasons
It does not add to environmental pollution or mental satisfaction at the cost of ...!!

Rising costs of fuel is definitely going to affect the tourists . The consumers will have to pay a lot more now.Cost of travel will go up , Period!! We shall have to save hereon...to have fun later ! 
Domestic fares are up already....Travelling refreshes the mind....If mind is not allowed to wander frequently , the quality of life will worsen DEFINITELY !! SAD ....
