Thanks to some brilliant captaincy from Shaun Pollock & now Sachin Tendulkar.
Key players for Mumbai Indians...
Shaun Pollock's great bowling spells,
Bravo- great allround effort,
& Sanath Jayasuriya... some awesome batting performances in the recent matches.
Dhaval Kulkarni, Abhishek Nayar, Yogesh Takawale... the youngsters who have played good roles too.
Sachin's presence has definitely added value.... if not too much runs on the scoreboard. Even the fear factor among rivals helps..plus it has helped Jayasuriya, Bravo cut loose.
Andre Nel comes in for Mumbai Indians. Hopefully he will help fill the void of Dwayne Bravo atleast in the bowling dept. Loots Bosmann is another allrounder who hasnt been used. Wonder what happened to Ashwell Prince. Mumbai Indians also had Lasith Malinga in their rolls but he is out whole season. Else he would have been very effective for this T20 format.
The rumor is next season... Kevin Peiterson might be the big draw for Mumbai Indians. He will also end up as the highest paid cricketer in IPL next season.

>>>>>If Sanath continues to score at this rate, it will be easy to forget his performance in 1996 WC. Mumbai's momentum came from performances in the second half of the tournament and a lot of credit should go to Pollock for keeping the team afloat. Sachin looks a little slow at the moment. He was beaten in the air by Ojha and was miles out of his crease, but Gilchrist missed an easy chance, last Sunday. Until Bravo partnered with Nair, the game was slightly in favour of Deccan.
Looks like the semi finalists will be Rajasthan,Punjab, Chennai and Mumbai.
Side Notes:
RP Singh and Zaheer are among the top 5 wicket takers in this tournament......how would one relate that to their team performances?
Same case with Rohit and Gilchrist's performances. I was told that Rohit was not picked up by Mumbai......wonder why.
A commentator attributed Punjab's performance to the colour of their clothing.......a weird reasoning.
Glad to see stadiums with full of fans. Newsreports indicated the popularity of all-you-can-eat places in the stadiums.....nice idea!
Its terrible to note the applicability of D/L rule [after just 5 overs] in this format. Delhi were certainly robbed of one victory.
Shane Warne has been the best Captain on show. No wonder players like Watson and YK Pathan are flowering under his tutelage.
