SL scored 308, the exact score that we failed to defend yesterday, let's see how our bats will respond, both Gambhir & Sehwag have a good track records against SL.

So far Indian Top order is in control.
SL is hoping to get few quick wickets and put brakes on. Indian batting has shown time and again that they can score 20s and 30s but not carry hte bat for long (except Sehwag and Ghambhir on occassion).
once the breakthrough is acheived , SL will push Murali to Control.

The key is to be on the offensive......Irrespective of the sitation you are in, you dont want to give an impression of someone who is destined to lose the game. Not that Mahela does not know about it, not that he did not do it before.....it is just that all of that thinking has been kept in cold storage today.....I dont want to say anything more.
I will not wait to push Murali until a breakthrough is achieved....that is not the thinking needed to defend 308, which is just an achievable score on this kind of a dead wicket.

The match could very well be decided in the first 20 overs. If India bulldozes SL opening attack and reduces the run rate dramatically, India will have a chance. With a weak opening, SL will dominate the later part unless we can recall Dhoni of couple of years back.

Surprisingly SL didnt play Mendis in this match , their most successful bowler in this tournament. Murali is the only threat.
