Dravid is trying his best to show that he is leading from the front....but the opposition bowlers have been doing better job than him with the bat...
Amongst the captains.... my ranking at this stage..
Shane Warne Sehwag & Yuvi - equally placed. Dhoni (inspite of loosing a few good players he is managing it) Pollock (he was brilliant last 2 matches) Sourav Dravid Laxman (he has/had the best resources but didnt capitalize on it) Bhajji ( he was pathetic in the initial Mumbai Indians macthes)

RS,
You are just following the points table. tell us something we do not know. Who is going make a comeback from the lower rung (say from Saurav, Dravid and Laxman). Dhoni looked golden for a while.
Dravid has never been a good captain. He is just a good Batsman.

Coming sunday's match, Hyd vs Kolkata will decide who will come on the top (among these 3), I still think that Hyd has a decent shot and will climb up.
Another interesting thing that I've noticed is the teams with foreign coaches are winning except for Kokata, Shane Warne is doing double duty, hes is both captain & coach of Jaipur team.

I see that Hyd is using ranji players. Vijaykumar bowled well in that match. Hopefully they can get more time and get some good renumeration out of this T20.

Prgyan Ohja is another prospect , left arm spinner, he will represent India someday. But overall Hyd bowling looks weak on paper, to add insult to injury, Gibbs, Afridi haven't clicked yet.

Dravid's mistakes were made in team selection. he filled the team with clones of his styles (ex: Jaffer, Kallis - known to be terrible t20 players). He should have tried something like Hyd Chargers.
In terms of marshalling available resources for the task at hand, Shane Warne and Yuvi get my vote. They are doing more with less.
Sehwag probably has the batting trio that has hit real purple patch. Gambhir has been outstanding throught the tournament.
I would not count Dhoni out. He could pull some games on individual contributions as well as team management.

Dude team selection is one of the most important skill of a captain and Dravid gets 0 for that. He is adamant that technique alone will succeed in any form of the game, he refuses to see the light. How the hell does he keep misbah out of the team time and again. Jaffer and he are not suited for T20 period. Laxman as just a batsman is better in T2o then dravid, he sucks big time as a captain.
Dhoni I am sure was handicapped by three big guns leaving, now having said that and once that happened the bowling weakness was clearly apparent. Having said that, he went on to make radical changes in this match, the inclusion of balaji, and making nitni sit are characteristics of a good captain, just like ganguly was in his hay days.

TB,
I agree dhoni is able to shift down and play more responsible innings, my suspicion is whether he can bring back his bang-bang game ..either his back problems are forcing him not to swing his bat with the kind of ferocity he used to or he is a bit out of touch in that department. Hope this is not a permenant thing, would love to see another innings from him like the one he played against SL.

I would place Pollock next to Warne. He has taken losing, broken team to winning ways..thats great comeback for Mumbai. He is setting the stage for Tendulkar to take over a winning team...

Among the three I would root for saurav...the other two are hopeless as leaders.

nobody expected Dravid to click in 20-20s, it would be a bonus if he did.
Are you talking about Dhoni? he has learnt to switch gears and play for the situation.
Dhoni got good head but he is arrogant in some of his public comments.
