I think this will only spoil the unique essence of regionalism in India...when everyone is in their own towns..the ethnicity  of that place is untouched..if people keep moving they aquire things that are not unique to their cultures and teh pure breed gets entagled in gene mutation and produce cross breeds..i hatz it.

a good question indeed!

we can not buy a plot in Kashmir yes; apart from this we should not ignore another grave area: that is regionalism: Na I am not attacking regionalism; but the locals or the natives are marginalised and the migrants are getting the jobs when the local or regional govt is providing water and infrastructure and land for setting up the factories

is it correct ? why do not we see from this angle too?

Article 370 of the constitution of India bars you from doing so.

Omar Abdullah in a comparison of India and Pakistan said India kept its word on this, whereas Pakistan just only cared about occupying territory and also engineering demographic invasion. China did the same for Tibet.

India is the only country which did not do so, but has the maximum problems. I guess it does NOT pay to be a soft and law abding state.

In China, I think you need special permit to go to Bejing or Shanghai if you don't live there. I don't think there ever was a question about if any Indian has right to settle anywhere. There has been debate going on in Bombay forever on how to prevent the overcrowding. Relentless migration to the megacities (especially Bombay) puts strain on everything including developing the city. It is almost impossible to develop any city and its infrastructure if the resources keep getting outstripped by those who consume them.

Overcrowding of the cities under crumbling infrastructure is a real problem for all the metros in India. Especially ones like Bombay and Banglore which are magnets.

Very true batata! I have first hand knowledge about Shanghai. Any Chinese from outside Shanghai, needs a work permit to get in Shanghai. Plus, vehicles coming from outside have to pay entry fee limited to certain days. They continuously monitor the number of vehicles so that it is always limited to 3.5 million or so. They forcibly resettle population, if the density increases, to new developed areas with all aminities. (Singapore follows this very same principle!)

In our beautiful democracy, this is not possible....... sad.

According to international laws and UN Charter which India accepted, settling people in occupied territories is a CRIME.
bangaloreknight posted Re:Supreme Court: Every Indian has right to settle anywhere in the country on 4 mnths ago
I think the larger debate should include getting back our territory from pakistan...the focus should be on that and once that is accomplished, we can sort out the other stuff later....

batataburger posted Re:Supreme Court: Every Indian has right to settle anywhere in the country on 4 mnths ago
What is definition of occupied territory under International law and UN Charter ? :)

You are like a monkey that jumps at every peanut. You need a little bit more intelligence to espouse your cause. With these kind of arguments you are not doing any favour to your cause.

If a foreign military enters and stays in a country without the consent of the people, it is military occupation.
deep purple posted Re:Supreme Court: Every Indian has right to settle anywhere in the country on 4 mnths ago

KV - Just so you know, you could be reported to US Govt for being an LTTE propogandist on internet in US.

 Kayal Vizhi :

The question asked was what "
What is definition of occupied territory under International law and UN Charter ? :)" and not what you feel is military ocupation, you fool. You are so ignornat and blind you  are just unfit to be a member of this august assembly.

It is high time you retired hurt, and hurt seriously, before it becomes "left, after a fatal injury."

KV is NOT Indian. She is Srilankan. She doesnt know much about India.
Vaidyanathan Pushpagiri posted Re:Supreme Court: Every Indian has right to settle anywhere in the country on 4 mnths ago
PseudoIntellectual :

So what? Are Sri Lankans barred from learning about Intenational Law or UN Charter? One need not be an Indian to know about these things, as it is not an Indian Prerogative. You have proved beyond doubt  that you are what your handle states : a PseudoIntellectual.

I am forced to repeat what I wrote a few weeks ago.  There is no dearth to Avidya in the Sulekha Forun Beta.

I never said that I am not a pseudointellectual.

My point was that KV wouldnt know that Kashmir isnt an occupied territory.
Kayal Vizhi posted Re:Supreme Court: Every Indian has right to settle anywhere in the country on 4 mnths ago

My point was that people of Kashmir never agreed to be part of India.

I have posted here many times I am from Tamil Nadu. Read my many earlier posts.

The entire kashmir is not occupied territory/ BTW, kashmir belongs to india and not pakistan. pakistan itself was once  a part of india, for ur info...since u don't seem to know the basics. So people fo kashmir are 100% Indians

scribblingpad posted Re:Supreme Court: Every Indian has right to settle anywhere in the country on 4 mnths ago
how do u know>did u conduct a survey? show us the report!!
Kayal Vizhi posted Re:Supreme Court: Every Indian has right to settle anywhere in the country on 4 mnths ago
I don't have to show anything or conduct a survey. Kashmiris never agreed to be part of India.

Your asking me to sow is like China occupying Hindi belt and saying show me Hindians did not want to be part of China.

u have been thoroughly misled, KV....u have no idea of  the concept of national integrity at allllllllllllllllllllll

KV - you shift the issue to Kashmir. Create divide-India feelings at all costs. If not TN, then suddenly Kashmir?

Is it ISI or LTTE?
BladeRunner posted Re:KV shifts from LTTE to ISI? on 4 mnths ago
this whole thing with KV is just a BIGGGG HUGEEE bore!
stop discussing this topic and let's get back to more interesting topics

KV might have wrong ideas abt Indians. But as a NI, Its shameless that someone openly resorts to divide-India posts on an Indian site.

play of words is best SI defense.

I, as a NI, dont even spit on it.
Raja Ramchandra posted Re:Whats the email ID to report suspected terrorists? on 4 mnths ago

Kayal, everybody here seems to think you are a man. I appreciate your loyalty to Tamil culture.

But your rabid thought that India will break up IS laughable. It shows that you haven't understood the basic ethos - RESILIENCE! Sad, you have lost hope on it.

On the other side, it is equally sad to see here, people like 'deep purple' who have a fetish to bring up SI / NI divide. I detest both these kinds.

Irrespective of views of such purile minds, India will survive and march on...... may be slowly being a leviathan....... but surely to glory.................. Raja.

BladeRunner posted Re:Whats the email ID to report suspected terrorists? on 4 mnths ago

KV is not a terrorist. he is just passionate about a separate tamil country. Misguided yes, terrorist, no.

He is beyond the SI/NI groups. He belongs to one of those misguided (aka stupid) fanatics that want separate countries without really thinking it through.

You need to be careful with your anti-India divide-India posts. You never know when you might end up in an US jail, if you continue with your ways.
