I would prefer a return to the days when there was no electricity.Since that appears an impossible dream let us at least try and not accelerate the pace of our enslavement to gadgets.
Anything nuclear should be banished from our lives. And let us remove US from our thoughts, so that we can start doing what is good for us. If the likes of Bush invade us let them since it cannot anyway be helped. Let us at least retain some dignity even while we die.Perhaps not an acceptable recipe for youngsters but then I cannot just be a cabaret dancer playing to the gallery.

How is that possible?
you yourself is in USA -- if my memory is working.

I do believe that the voters of the whole nation should show maturity in the next election and should vote for either of the big national parties, instead of the tiny regional parties. If one of the responsible parties is in power, it can take true decision about the major nationally benificial issue like the Nuclear deal.

I have met several native Indian chiefs who still have in their possesion treaties with US government giving them control over millions of sq. kilometers of US territory - but that is nothing more than paper worth no value.
All treaties with USA are of very similar nature.
Best idea is to have some power ourselves; entering and breaking a treaty as the need arises is normal. One should avoid getting defeated in a military conflict at all cost and one should not be found without electic power and other power too. Rest is following the ever changing self interest ; Russia and even China was selling India nuclear fuel until India decided to buy major Arms from Isreal and not Russia. America is willing to supply Arms and Nuke know-how but at 10 times the current price; main reason for proliferation is US complicity in non- intervention by USA in Pakis Nuke materials trade. Every country follows their self interest, likewise India needs leaders who can follow India's self interest without being bought for paltry sums. A dalit without culture or cash would not be able to be a good leader because what is needed is a person steeped in Indian culture (protection agaist being sold out) and having seen the wealth and its trappings (protection against being soldout cheap).

Seems u have a point. one of my friend use to vote for a congress candidate. Her agrument was the cadidate is bad but rich. He wont be sold away to any A, B, C-- he wont sell his constituency,s interest cheaply.
But USA I think is no longer the tiger. 9-11 has exposed its vulnerability and it will be less aggresive now.

Visiting US has nothing to do with having US in our minds all the time.
