What is Positive Thinking? A Mind-Blowing Example

Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983.

>From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: "Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease"?

To this Arthur Ashe replied:

"The world over -- 50 million children start playing tennis, 5 million learn to play tennis,
500,000 learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam,
50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals,
when I was holding a cup I never asked GOD 'Why me?'.
And today in pain I should not be asking GOD 'Why me?' "

This is a stunning attitude, it is very easy for people to feel sorry for themselves and we wall deal with lifes problems in diffrent ways. The fact is is we can draw strength from stories like this then when people go through similar things they will realise they are not the only one. There is a great story told by the dalai lama in his book art of happiness. In the story it tells of a woman who's child dies at a young age she approches a wise man and asks can he bring back her son from the dead, He replies YES I can if in the village you knock at a house and they have a lemon and have never had a familiy member die! Obviously she can not find anyone who has not had a death in the family and she soon realises that she is not alone.

The Humility of Arthur Ashe is simply amazing and thanks to his parents for bringing up a child like him.The minute we face some problem we blame god for it.The minute we get some success we will come up with a list saying that i did all these things to come this far. Attitude makes a man and this is the reason why Arthur ashe is still living amongst us.
