Ms.SS

good to know that everything went well.  Glad to see you back all chirpy and healthy.  Additioonal benefit - you dont need to 'hump' your backpack anymore.

Do let us know about your escapades under anesthesia.

Welcome back.

Thanks, uff, but I have to hump my backpack one more time next week, got a post op checkup - I'll try it out with a smaller backpack this time :).

Anesthesia ha ha!

gizzardectomy should make you chirpier.  good to see you in such high spirits.

PS: LLBean has some decent rolling backpack that dont need humping.

Glad you hear you're well, smitasamm. If something bad happened to you, I would be very sad. Thanks for being a part of CH and entertaining us with your quick wit and lively banter. I think of you each time I see that 10 lb bag of goji berries in the top shelf of my pantry. Will goats eat goji berries? just wondering. My wife'a maternal grandmother has a goat and I was wondering if I should send this stuff over.

xoxo x 10, Bittu

Aw Bittu, such a lovely comment from you thankyou :), your appreciation made me feel all warm inside .  As for the goji berries, good that you are still a fan and keep them in your larder - I would imagine that goats would be very partial to them, although it might be wise warning your wife's grandmother to give them only one handful at a time.

Someone gave me a huge bag as a get well gift, I could never get through that amount before they go off - between us both there might be enough to restore the bounce in tired sick goats in the whole of Asia!

BTW to date wheatgrass juice powder seems to have no beneficial effects, none, nothing, nought, unless its the kinda benefits one can only see beneath a microscope?????????

Smita - I think of you whenever I see goji berries ;-) Snapple has a gojiberry drink which is kinda tart. I've seen them sell dried goji berries at Costco.
smitasamm posted Re:One week later - Currer Bell on 1 month ago
I've seen cartons of gojiberry n' blueberry juice, maybe the blueberries diffuse the tartness?  But I wonder if they are the pure juice or just a juice drink with added water.  If so its probably easier to put a handful of berries in a mug of boiled water, let them steep, then drink the resulting brew.  Or whizz the berries with the water in blender and drink the same.  Same or better nutritional value, but less expensive.

smita,
good to have you back. in my opinion, if you start drinking single malt scotch, you'll find great health benefits over time. trust me. one day i hope to get together with you and drink and do fun stuff.

Honestly Bittu, when I looked in the mirror this morning and saw Miss Frankenstein peering back at me from the glass, I felt an immediate urge to go to a pub and down several rum/cider's or even several strong Brandy's - instead I went to the shop and bought some chocolate, scared the shop assistant, and later this afternoon, scared 2 girls from my street who wanted to know how I was.  I told them it was the result of computer addiction, they turned a paler shade of green and run off home to tell their mother's, haha!

is this the same goat that you had conjugal relations with? or was that an entirely different critter altogether?
BittuZing posted Re:See You here next week maybe - Goodnight on 1 month ago
THE goat is diff critter. Sadly I haven't kept in touch with the whereabouts of her kin.
Propagandhi122 posted Re:See You here next week maybe - Goodnight on 1 month ago

you should look'er up and if she hadnt ended up in a biryani, send her the berries. she sure deserves it.

Oh they found a parathyroid adenoma buried in my thyroid gland, and removed it - they cause havoc in the body due to high BP and hypercalcemia (high calcium levels in the blood).  Caused perhaps by radiation (sitting in front of the computer screen too long) or carbon monoxide & smoke inhalation (I got poisoned some years ago.)
Tiana posted Re: Tiana on 1 month ago
OMG! That was a lot to go thru- Smita, it's good to know that everything was detected and treated on time, and you are doing fine..

i checked scars...they dont look bad at all. i wish u all the good health. may god be with u.
smitasamm posted Re One week later - QB on 1 month ago
Hi QB, I'm back home, alive and scarred - actually you were right, I don't think the scar will be too bad, it is as neat as a strand of hair, but the swelling and bruising is awful, feels like I have had a cuttlefish bone implanted in my neck, plus a few beans.  I hope in time it will heal and kind of lay flat ufffff!

Smita,

I was thinking about you. Good to know that everything went well and you are recovering well (see, we told you!)

Don't worry about the scar now. Complete healing without any infections or complications is the most important part now.

Take care..and take it easy...don't try to do too much or rush the recovery process.

Thanks for your words Maria, yes you were right, it was not easy to look forward from my previous state of agitation.

Actually the hospital was great, clean, tidy, I had this fantastic bed which you could press buttons to adjust it in all kinds of positions, and then wow, it had this multi-computer station which you pulled down from the ceiling, and you could have internet, TV, Radio, Telephone, speaker to the Radio Station - press other buttons and nurses came to serve you painkillers, drinks, hairdressing, every comfort - wah!   I was really disappointed that they sent me home so early :( .

Despite this, I slept mostly, probably the best sleep I have had in a long time :).

Lol!

Thanks Seva, I am healing slowly, get tired easily - but out of danger now.  BP & calcium are back to normal, both create havoc or did.
Seva posted Re:One week later - Seva on 1 month ago

Welcome back Smita. Nice to know you are doing fine. Take it easy - don't tire yourself thanking people now (it can wait).

Yes, till next week with more stories from your beautiful Penzance in Cornwall. I googled it a few times, it's not as cool as Bath or Brighton, or Lyme but it's still cool in that British way. - See you soon.

smitasamm posted Re: Bath & Brighton - Silhouette! on 1 month ago
Penzance is much smaller than Bath or Brighton, they are both cities - Bath is elegant, and Brighton is Fish n'chips and cockneyed, and landladied, and lively and arty and gay - and its surroundings an up and coming area for trendy self-sustainability.  Lyme is smaller and very twee, British gentry place - stunning natural landscapes :).  Penzance is mystical and wild :P.

OMG! you went to Penzance!! didja see any pirates??? ;-)
Silhouette posted Re: Bath & Brighton on 1 month ago
She lives there! How lucky is that.

Smits, great to see you back and all cheerful too! Glad to know it all went well. Speedy recovery to you.

(Wish you were to post pics of your mystical English locales)

See you here next week with your next set of rantings.....
smitasamm posted Re:Jai Uppili Swami - Uppili .... rantings on 1 month ago
Hi, Jai Uppili Swami - Everything seems fine - as you said - and I did wake up after all :).  Taking it easy, my family have been with me, and friends - actually it was hectic, like a big family get to gether, and afterwards we all went out to dinner, stayed up late, celebrated, chatted until well after midnight, now theyv'e all gone home I can take a break :).

Went to town in a Burka today, in an effort to conceal the cuttlefish and beans ............:S,,,,,,,,,,
Uppili posted Re:Jai Uppili Swami - Uppili .... rantings on 1 month ago
Glad to know that you are all fine, and most important that they found what was probably troubling you and removed it. your hospital stay and relaxation, and cuttlefish and beans are well worth it.

Even when you had access to internet you did not come on CH ? Looks like you need an increase in your CH dosage...
