Some time ago I read that there are 25 billionaires in India, Moreover the BCCI are making crores and crores of rupees. I was just wondering why these people cannot adopt certain places like tourist centres or railway stations and provide clean toilet facilities. With all their money, they can do some social service, they can employ people to keep the places clean, it will not make much of a difference to them, with all their money. They will be providing employment to so many people. Clean toilet are so very important, but in our country it is given the least importance. Someone said that the govt does not cooperate,is that so? It is our duty to keep our surroundings clean,if all of do our bit,I think our country will be a much cleaner place. If people are provided with facilites, clean facilities, they will certainly use them. It is no use blaming people,if they are not provided with facilities.
I am sure people will not mind paying ,if they are provided clean restrooms.Clean restrooms

Yes you are right in India we do not have basic aminities such as water, electricity, roads, education and many more things in addition of Toilets
if Govt. provides above all such basic things to all people then no one wanted to go out of our country India to any other countries for job
we gandus the great quote unquote educated idiots have given execcisve importance to education and meanwhile have forgotten what kept us neat and tidy.the balim fo rthis goes to the backwardness within the society and nothing else.
we as a race are inferior and we will be inferior unless and until some radical hardliners such as myself move their ass up to Indian ad jump and ramp and ravage within the political arena..provided we are not killed by the so called violent people of india.

learnt this as a child - if you want to know the real attitude of a person towards hygiene n looks - visit their restroom, and check the condition of their shoes. This is what differentiates Indian mindset from Americans.

It has to do with the way of thinking. Clean restrooms seem to be the least of indian govt.'s problems. Of course, govt. alone can not/should not solve all the problems. The people must be involved. I am not surprised that millionaires and billionaires of India don't care. Amitabh has donated 25 crores Rs. to the richest temple (TTD) in India--go figure. The city (Bombay) where he made millions of dollars has the dubious honor of having the largest slum in the world. Reportedly, this slum has a population of 1 million people. Do you think that Amitabh ever thought about doing some good deeds in Bombay? Probably not. It has to do with people's state of mind. It has been said that cleanliness is next to God. In that respect, the people don't seem to think very highly of God.
well clean toilets are not our first priority you have to understand how development occurs. Our religion is our problem and who cares about clean toilets? if people would be caring then they would be founding funds and will pay more taxes..
you have to admit that we indians hindus and muslims are dirty people and i do not see this changing for next 100 years atleast.
