Actually I do have a 1000 note.. my dad gave it to me when i was leaving India a couple of years ago. I kept it in the pooja place. So ya, not sending it to anyone.
Dood, my reasoning is very simple on that...I don't do any paaps that will require me to do pooja, ganga-snan etc. :) If you notice, the most corrupt people would come across as most religeous! Be it leaders, politicians, builders, bhais, you name it..

Yes, they claim to be most religious. They can show it to more people, they can spread the word and that is why we know them as religious.
I think there are still more religious people who we do not know about, not that it matters to us or even to the
subliminal God.
IMO, we as humans have basic needs to show-off for personal gratification. Whether its our material posessions or spiritual aliances and pooja falls in that category as well. I think pooja for paap is just a facade for the world and I agree, even truely deeply religious people do it. I was more referring to the peace of mind from pooja/dhyan.
We had a small cureo, unused, which we converted into a make-shift temple when my folks were here! Those temples sold at NJ shops are expensive....I am not a big fan of idols/pooja though :)
speaking of temples when i was flying back from india this gujji couple had brought a temple with them. Since i practically fly with no luggage they wanted me to keep it. I met them at frankfurt and they wanted me to take it through security. I accepted at that moment and nothing untoward happend but never will i do so again.
