that his wife spends so much time in kitchen. or are there more out there?

btw, my kitchen addicted wifey is making 100 pooris. while i chat here. i feel guilty. even after making the deal with her that i will feed the kids. i mean kahaan poori banana aur kahaan bachcho ko ek daant pilaa ke khana khilana. not fair. not fair at all.

Buy a chapati/puri maker (it presses the round 3-dimensional spheres balls into thin 2-dimensional circles). She presses the balls into puries and you fry them in the oil. It goes very fast. 100 puries in 1/2 hour at the max.

Mine rarely makes good food.  She 'experiments' with videshi recipes - they seldom taste good.  *hope she wont read this*

What size are the pooris? 100 tiny snack pooris should not take too much time.  May be she needs an excuse to stay away from you, what are you doing to driving her away?

I have a friend who does a million things for her family and then takes on other projects such as cooking for others (sick friends, coming home from vacation, elderly, babies, etc). I think it takes a toll on her, but that's how she shows her affection.

So, enjoy your puris !

I can appreciate your friend for helping sick friends & elderly. But why does she have to cook for people coming home from vacation. When we come back from vacation , we either eat at a restaurant on our way back or order pizza/chinese food.
I assume your friend cooks Indian food. Cooking indian food is labor-intensive. She must have a lat of stamina.
She needs to find a better way to show her affection.
Have you ever had to feed gluttons? Unfortunately, some of our relatives are in that category. They eat like 300-pound football players. We are talking about people stuffing themselves, who can barely walk after they finish eating. Each one of them could put away 10 pooris or 10 or more dosais, 4 or 5 times more rice than I could ever eat!

Yeah, I agree, but I was grateful to her when we returned from vacation and I was sick for a week. Her food was a Godsend! But, I'm surprised at the number of people and the randomness of it.
She does cook Indian, and she says that her kids don't eat, so she shares with others.

10 or more dosais

So, to placate the resident madrasi of this board, you will start using 'Dosai' instead of 'Dosa'? Grow some balls!

Apparently she read my post where I mentioned she wont make pooris owing to her *health conscious* diet.
