Excerpts

It wants India to build the $7.5 billion pipe-line and agree to buy 70% of its gas at an undetermined price. And there are other snags in the plan, including that the pipe-line would traverse Pakistan’s wild and war-torn Balochistan province. India knows all about the insurgency there: it has been fuelling it for decades.

>> I seem to recollect reading something about the history of this.
>> In 1970's, apparently some Indian agencies tried to foment Insurgency in Pak.
>> However Vajpayee (YES VAJPAYEE) ended this, when he was part of Moraji Desai Government.
>> This one sided help he rendered, was one of the reason he felt confident to initiate peace process with
>> Pakistan. He had built a reservoir of trust. Offcourse Pakis as usual stabbed him back with Kargil.
>> Thus the author's assertion is wrong.

all, America has already shown an unusual tolerance of abuse in democratic Delhi,
>> I wonder America gets abused a lot more by the Chinese and they do not care about this.

Clearly the Author has a bias against India and wants to un-necessarily create a controversy
Poor Journalism from a reputed journal like economist. They have lowered their standards.

Americans are devoted to their self interest, pretty much like a begger- please keep me rich at any cost.Indians need to have leadership which is devoted to India's national interests, unfortunately, it is very easy to buy or sell Indian politicians or officials on Ebay at highly discounted prices.

Step I for India is to kill folks doing active harm to India in India- but that might eliminate 99% of Indian leadership.
