jokes apart, this is something interesting i found

The article quoted below was texted by dr. arisyo santos. This probably answers your question on jesus. This is one of the comparative reading that I found interesting, because the person has explored linguistic possibilities.

[START] "I think the time is come where certain things can be disclosed. For the Third Millennium is dawning upon the world, and the epoch has come for the long awaited Third Coming. I don't know if a person called Jesus ever went to India to be initiated. But I do know that a god variously named Issa, Isha, Ichtos, Iesus, Ieshuah, Joshuah, Jesus, etc. is indisputably originary from India.

In fact, Jesus' life and, particularly, his childhood deeds were copied from those of Krishna. A well-known instance of this is the so-called Evangel of the Infancy, an apocryphal (i. e. "secret evangel") directly cribbed from its Indian precursor. Even the Church Doctors have recognized this undeniable fact, hiding away such books and rejecting them. But, in fact ALL evangels are really apocryphal, having been written by anonymous writers under the pseudonym of the Apostles. The whole history of Jesus is a fraud, for he never existed at all, at least as a real person.

But Issa/Ieshuah is not indeed Krishna, as his name is taken directly from that of Ishvara, "the Lord of the Universe" (Ish-vara, in Skt.). Ishvara — pronounced "Ishwar" — is also called Ishva ("Lord"), pronounced "Ishwa". The name of Ieshua or Ioshuah means "Saviour" in Hebrew, and is taken directly from the above Sanskrit term, which also has this acception, particularly when applied to Vishnu and to Shiva. Ishvara (Ishwar) is widely worshipped in the Far East, being also called Isha (or Ishana) in India, Issara in Pali, Isuan in Thai, Jizu (or Jizai) in Japanese, and so on.

In turn, Issa (or Issi) is a corrupted form of the Skt. Rishi (or Riksha). Issa is how the Muslims call Jesus Christ, whom they acknowledge as a sort of saint. The Rishis are the "Sages" or "Seers" who revealed the Vedas (Hindu evangels) to the world. They date from Vedic times in India, being far older than the times of Christ, and even of Israel as a Biblical nation in Palestine. The Rishis are widely worshipped in the Far East, whence their cult passed to the Near Orient and, thence, through Alexandria, into Greece and Rome.

The several etyms of the name of Jesus/Issa in Sanskrit reveal the Indian origin of both his myth and his onomastic. Isha (or Ishan or Ishwa) means "Lord", as we already said. Emmanuel or Manuel derives from Manu-el, that is "Lord Manu", meaning "Saviour Lord". Ishva (read "Ishwa") means "Master" ( = Rabbi, a frequent designative of Christ). Ishi (or Isha) means "Rishi", that is, "the one who reveals the Evangels", like the Seven Rishis, who preceded him, and whose myth he copied.

The Essenes — from whom most of the doctrines allegedly preached by Jesus were copied — called such initiates and prophets by the name of Issar (plural Issarim). In Sanskrit (the sacred language of India in which such myths were composed) many etyms are telltale of the true origin of the myth of Christ. In it, Ishu means "missile" and, more exactly "envoy", "messenger", emissary". Jesus/Ishu is thus "the Celestial Messenger" or "Angel" (Angelos in Greek means just this), the avatar commemorated in the Mass (Latin Missa = Emissa = Emissary").

As much as Deepak Chopra's writings are interesting to read..this is kind of stating the obvious (as many Christian Theologians and Biblical Scholars would say!) This is the same Christian doctrine-message I have heard all my life...absolutely nothing new here!

*I have not read the book....but the title/concept- "Jesus as three people/tthree entities"...is very much from the dogma of the "Holy Trinity"- three dimensions - Father, Son and Holy Spirit...each with it's own divine dimensions..with one "distinctly human characteristics".

Indian spiritual GURUS--from OSHO to sr sri Sri Ravi Shankar to Mahesh Yogi to MANY MANY MANY MORE YOGIS  like Deepak Chopra  ---------Swami Ramdev  included----------SELL like hot cakes in the USA and perhaps also West---why? Simple. Confused AMERICANS of doubtful Ancestry--impressed by INDIAN DESERTERS like DEEPAK.  I suppose SHIV KHERA is also turning into a spiritual guru---he has those one liner books---like,  IF QUITTERS DON"T QUIT, HOW CAN WINNERS THEN WIN-----lesson, MAKE ESTABLISHED PEOPLE LEAVE AND FILL THE VOID CREATED. Mr Deepak Chopra should watch out for Shiv Khera's attempt to dis lodge him. Rajee.

How do you choose which words to capitalize?
rajee kushwaha posted Re:Who is Jesus? on 6 mnths ago
It is not intentional--capital key gets pressed while typing --so it carries on till i realise it. I try for  initial letter of the nouns and first letter of the sentence after full stop. This is what I capitalise. Any objections, please. Against the norms? fine--understood. i am a poor typist so it is like this. Regards. Rajee

dont know about third Jesus .        Deepak Chopra only knows   hehe   :)     .i do believe  although  Jesus  was born in Bethlehem .in Middle east ..then he  travelled  east to India and around there ..imbibed the teachings of Hinduism ...perhaps Buddhism ..and headed back to Jerusalem ..thats how  no  one  had heard of him until he was 30 years old
His teachings smack of these  two religions .
little did he know he would be the founder of another  religion  called christianity

And hooligans in US were fighting each other.

    Picture changes so fast.

Wait for a new religion in 2150.

Deepak is another talented disciple of  Maharishi, just like the Sri,sri,sri......
Maharishi was not satisfied by living like Swami Brahmananda (Guru) or Karpatri Maharaj( a brother disciple), he instead started popularizing yoga to improve material and mental conditions of wealthier countries.  Appears that Deepak's and Sri sri sri's material and mental conditions are pretty good. Rich people come to these folks for help and they are glad to pay thousands -why would that make other NRIs distressed? There are thousands of people in USA who sell expensive condominums, may be even located next to slaughterhouses, they are not considered blameworthy, so a guy selling stuff near a yoga resort is definitely praiseworthy.

Chopra's contention that super consciousness etc. is same as God, or Jesus or Rama or Krishna etc. is something known to most Indians for good 3000 years; why is it such a big deal? I am sorry that not all NRIs can mint money like popular Yoga teachers of the wealthy but we do try to make whatever money we can in our chosen profession.  I don’t think Indians gain anything by criticizing other Indians who are minting money without using unethical means.

Hmm--a book about Jesus from a man who charges $200-300K for condominiums at his luxury resorts. It's a little like reading a book about business ethics by Ken Lay. As a progressive Christian, I like the premise of the book, yet the whole thing smacks of a personal triumphalism, a Jesus for those who have the time, money and therefore consciousness to encounter him. What about the thousands who have died of starvation in the time it's taken to read this sentence, the very ones who were the initial focus of Jesus' message? How do you encounter the mystical Jesus when you're evicted from your home because your neighborhood has been gentrified, making way for luxury condos? Where is the third Jesus when you're sifting through garbage at the dump for your next meal? Where is that Jesus in this book? Sorry--I'm not convinced that this is the transformative work that it purports itself to be. For transformation, see Walter Wink's "Jesus and Nonviolence: A Third Way".

    Awesome.

    > ... a progressive Christian...

IMO, the kind of Christian that is closest to the ideals that Christ himself worked towards. Of course, in the day and age of "prosperity theology," a  progressive Christian is bound to be marginalized within his own religion.
