Thanks Amerasian:)

So, there was one person here- who wondered what happened to me and cared enough (brave enough) to even express it!  Now I know- where I stand with you all here:)

After three years...I think I am making great progress!

*Oh, Maria is doing ok..lots of stuff happening (obviously good and bad)...sure dancing in Maike (or Maike-like places) has been part of it too:)

Thanks Jaijui,

I am feeling and doinging as best as possible...Used to think in life ups follow downs, followed by ups again..but, have realized life events (like in the lives of most people) run on parallel lines (like railroad tracks!) the happy and sad events-happening concurrently (at the same time.)..so dealing with both:)

Vish,

Thank you.  So, you are back to globe-trotting again!  I will read and comment on your blogs soon.

Safe travels!

Well Maria ji:

Not so fast.. This time you might have the cake an eat it too... You might have Obama AND Hillary on the ticket, and IF McCain picks your other favorite - Jindal, then you would have really aced it.

Except which one would you vote for ?
Maria S posted Re:Maria on 4 mnths ago

Thiru.Uppili,

*Obviously I will vote for the President and not for the VP!

I will quietly say..."sorry Bobby, you are not running for President" and have no conundrum this time!

Good that you are very clear about that. I will vote for McCain...but if he picked Jindal - then all bets are off....

Wait... I dont even vote.
Maria S posted Re:Maria on 4 mnths ago

I was kind of open-minded about McCain (I like him)...until yesterday.

Did you watch his speech yesterday? He was dull, uninspiring and seemed like he is aging real fast...I hope he does something to make himself look more energetic and appealing.

O ye man without salt, you should be ashamed of yourself. I know you are a native of Chennai, but as an american citizen you are obligated to vote.

Maria-garu, I am glad you have got something to smile about these days (NOT being sarcastic).
Regardless of what happens in November, as an american, you can take a great deal of pride knowing that an african-american is the democratic nominee for the presidential race. I never though I would see that in my lifetime. Perhaps, I should be more optimistic about this country's future regarding race relations.
Too bad (for me) he is not a conservative and not on McCain's potential VPs list.

Maria ,   yes  surely a historic moment  for America ...but that's as far as Obama goes    ...   sigh
Maria S posted Re:Maria- Viva Obama:) on 4 mnths ago

Jaijui,

I could be wrong..but I think his "Audacity (Journey of Hope)" continues and believe that he is a man of destiny will be 44th President of US.

The next few months are going to be an extraordinary and historic
time in this country. We all wait with bubbling excitement to see how
this works out. Look forward to November, and to hearing the thoughts
of all members of this group, in the run up to the election. Both
Hillary and Obama, excited and represented a segment of population who
never came this close to power. All credit goes to the youth of this
country that saw something promising and ran with it. Kudos!

WOW, is all I have to say for now.

And my daughter and I are really hurting this morning. Feeling really bad, and I've been on the verge of tears. She really means a lot to all of us, but I KNOW she's not going to disappear.

I like Obama as a person. I still have no confidence in him. He's got a lot to prove in the next few months.

Yes.

I've really tied myself to her in the past few years, esp after reading her bio - that really made her more real to me.

Oh CB,

I know how passionate we can be when we support oolitical candidates and when they don't  win, how bad we can feel...so will not rub it in!

You and your daughter should be proud of Hillary's efforts and she is a remarkable woman (and as woman,I feel pride too).

However- bad luck for her...she ran against an extraordinary leader...and I have every confidence he will be great President....wise and courageous (and a humanitarian).

*Barack was raised and nurtured/surrounded exclusively by women...his mother, grandmother, wife and two daughters...as odd as it seems...I see a lot of "good feminine qualities" in him- which is very unique/interesting to see in a man-so publicly seen)...but, don't let that fool anyone...he tough as they come- in political savvy and strategy!

So, hope in time..hope you get to like and trust him:)

Thanks Maria..

But if Obama is a "leader" then Hillary would be a "manager". In management classes, they always talked about the difference. The leader has the vision, but the managers are the ones that make things happen.

peacegazer posted Re:CB- Viva Obama:) on 4 mnths ago
Absolutely right.  Obama needs Hilary to be able to win in november elections.  Both as a team would be strong against Mccain.  Obama/Hilary ticket would make me vote for dems. otherwise it is Mccain.

Hilary deservs the VP post more than anyone else. heck she deserved to be prez.
PseudoIntellectual posted Re:CB- Viva Obama:) on 4 mnths ago
Another reading about Hillary being a VP makes me want to puke. She ran a very dirty campaign.  Her husband is a sexist on top of it & she paid the price.
peacegazer posted Re:CB- Viva Obama:) on 4 mnths ago
go ahead. puke. you should be used to it after republican campaigns and 8 yrs of bush.

mgv posted Re:Maria- Viva Obama:) on 4 mnths ago
I stopped watching news coverage when it became obvious that she was not going to be the nominee. It was really hurtful to see headlines that she was willing to go for the second prize  - as a VP nominee. Like I have said before I may get used to Obama, but just can't stand his wife. Granted she is not running for office, but just can't see her as the first lady. Oh well, I will not bother voting this time.

what has clinton done that obama hasn't ?...to not instill confidence in u ?

unfortunately this primary was a loose-loose if obama wins(which he has) then the woman folk are going to cry rape. If clinton had won then the afro american would have cried prejudice.

Obama won election in the states that are predominantly white. Yes, in the presidential elections race will be a factor, but not the determining factor. McCain will be our next president.
