There is mothers' day, fathers' day, spouses' (valentine) day, God's day (Diwali, Christmas, Id, Hanukkah, and so on) - shouldn't there be a children's day also?
Too bad we only have 365 days. I think there are at least 100 'special' days already. Fathers, Mothers, Lovers, Gods, Fools (Atheists?), Turkeys, Ghosts, Labor, Nation's..
India has the special sister/brother's and children's also.
Apart from Greeting cards & flower stalls who really needs so many special days?
"Too bad we only have 365 days."
Good point. To me, everyday is 'children's day'. So, it doesn't make any sense to designate a day as 'children's day'.
LOL...@'Ghosts day'

Yup, Hallmark co. would love to have another special day.
That day all the aunties of Sulekha can say anything they want.
Dr. Lodha, Smita and Dharma,
Thanks for the comments.
We should have specific days assigned for the (international) Children day and the (scientists/inventers.....) Teachers day. Perhaps the second Sunday in July should be called the Children day to honor and remember children all over the world and the second Sunday in August the Teachers day to honor all philosophers, thinkers, scientists, inventers, teachers from the past. This way in 4 months (May - August), there can be Mothers day, Fathers day, Children day, and Teachers day.

u-oh did you really forget 14 November...... celebrated as children's day ( atleast in my INDIA :)!
14th Nov. basically is Nehru's (unkil according to Merlot) birthday, and Chacha ji (Nehru) wanted to celebrate it inIndia as children's day.
There should be international Children's day, perhaps on 2nd Sunday in July (right after Mothers’ day (May) and Fathers’ day (June).
