Indian public is much more to the left than American. Indian economic break down also shows more poor and small middle class. naturally slightly left leaning news reporting is to be expected.
Some one like Rush Limbaugh will be eaten alive in Indian media.
BUt Rush Limbaugh is a terrible model to emulate. He is simply a liar and peddles pure nonsense and hides from real difficult questioning. His audience is motivated right wing.
Indian model should be Arun Shourie and Ramnath Goenka.
For the amount of lies that are being passed up on the other side, anything is good.
Gentlemen like shourie cannot connect to the Raw earthly village men/women.
We certainly need some nationalist & even rightist media folks.
If they play their cards right, they might succeed in moulding public
opinion in 10-15 years. The way to do that, is to fund the journalism/political science education
of nationalist minded bright lads, give them scholarships, so that they make a difference later in life.
I strongly believe this should include people from all religions, sikhs, buddhists, parsis, along with Hindus, christians and muslims.
The idea should be to
a) Work for real ways to destory casteism For example agitate for making it mandatory not to ask for one caste
in normal dialogue, ask for surnames to be dropped etc.
b) Be a watchguard against denigration to Hindus and any other communities.
c) Expose the genocide being committed on Hindus & Sikhs and educate the public about the history of genocide on Hindus & Sikhs, which the government seeks to whitewash
d) Keep true secularism as the real goal and expose pseudo-seculars.
e) Work tirelessly to correct education system, to remove all the leftist bias
g) Maintain a secularism watchlist of neighbouring countries around India and expose incidents
that happens there on a day by day basis. Force Indian gov. to maintain a secularism watchlist
and use it as a one of the inputs for foreign policy.
f) Expose communal moves by Congress/leftists and others.
h) prevent ideas like anti-semitism from taking roots in India. Offlate I have started seeing Indian
muslims take pan-Islamist causes. Break this and mould their opinion on what is good for their future
and India's future.
i) Release periodic opinion polls that support true secularism.
j) Fight for persecuted Vaishnavite monks in Assam and Border districts of Bengal /Tripura.
k) Expose people like YSR who seek to denigrate Hindus in AP.
May be there are more., that I cannot think off at the moment. .
Mix a-k with sound advice on economic development & entertainmen programmes,
which should be major goal of media. This provdes the pull factor to get people to listen
It is extremely important that this extends to the judiciary, even there we need some
