God Help Me!!!

started by RS-K 1 month ago

Ate my 'lunch' at 10:30 am today. Was finishing a pack of Twizzlers at 11:40 am (am in severe qawwali and coding mode), when my [new] manager comes and asks me,

'RS you had your lunch today?'.
'Ya I had it early today'.
'Oh. We were thinking of taking out the new guy for lunch'.

Then he looks at me. As such we are having issues with my 'shyness' factor with the team. So I said,

'You know what, I can join you guys'.

'Ok. Good. Let's get out 12:15'ish'.

'Ok'.

 (nervously chewing on more Twizzlers)

DearRanjini
God is too busy for attending some life saving acts, He is not in positions  you to help you in this Matter.
He asked me to convey this to you
So You have to solve the problem single handed.

Hey Chanchal,

I have a history of being dragged into two lunches. Sometimes it is lunch, and then team pizza. Hence the prayer to God. I did good y'day though. Only ate fries (yeah not a good choice either). But I ate a lot of snacks at home with tea. Aftet that, I was so full that I ate a late n lite dinner, that too just to give company.

BTW, my name is not Ranjini. My name is same as a Bollywood star's name, starting with R.

Can you narrow it down like movie name, year of release, and the hero of the movie....?

So how many lunches, snacks, and dinners planned for this long weekend ?

so what did u eat
RS-K posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
I took iced tea and just ordered fries. Kept on munching them slowly till every one else was fnished. Fries is such a thing, people can't resist it. A couple of them finished their food early, so they also started eating it from the basket.

Side topic. Now that there is a little majority, I learnt there are two fueding types of (rich???) groups in AP. One is reddys and another is thamas (???). One has ATA here and another has TANA. A kannadiga explained it all to the group. The reddy tried to explain that this is not the case, people have personal friends from the other group too. But the kannadiga didn't buy it and listed more examples on how this is so not true. Said, even their colonies are totally separated from each other. All this while the paki and I listened on, both of us equally clueless of what they were talking about, even though I pretended to know a lot more (courtesy CH).

(All this is purely anecdotal. Requesting please not to create a new NI genes based on this topic).

all i know is all gultis are 'money suckers' and crazy...they will first ask your 'caste' and once u fall for this then they will keep on showing off how much of money or property they got.

very boring.

Silhouette posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
Happened with me too, except the other way around. I met a few Kammas who told me very intereting stories about the progress and achievements of their community. Then I met people from other groups who negated everything and gave me more interesting stories to think about.

This Kannadiga guy sounds like a Cher. I hope Mr. Reddy doesn't take his crap seriously. Reminds me of the time I called my aunt to inquire about my caste after all Chers furiously led me to believe that all of north india was very caste divided  - well, never again! :D

there u go..

gultis suck.

Uppili posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
Hope you are not mixing 'thOmas" or Dhimmis with Kammas ?  Or perhaps it is a brand new subcaste fighting for a schedule tribe quota....

>> thamas

LOL, Kammas not thamas... I would say kannada guy was exxagerating quiet a bit about the separation part..

May be couch potato Kammas are these days called thamas (tamasic gunam).

Oh man you have a lot of issues. Just remember the new guy probably has more shyness factor than you. And if you don't know what to talk about just tell them you loved The Happening (which I really did, dunno what's the problem with the rest of the world!) and then you can sit back for the rest of the lunch.
Uppili posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
I think every one has issues like this.. Except, it appears Rsku is open enough to seek some answers...instead of talking to ONE Dalit friend or ONE reddy guy from AP and pompously claim to know everything about TN or AP or Kannad.. like some in CH.....

RS-K posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
yeah. When my manager introduced me to him, he said, 'This is RS. She is our.................. Oh ya and she is also shy like you'. I was like 'Whoa! Wait till you find it otherwise'. So the manager laughs and says to him, 'We all get ragged here. You are next'.

Kitna nonsense hai life main.
Silhouette posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
Perhaps you can use him as your short term goal and compete with him, as in try to be less shy than him. The habit will eventually help you get rid of your shyness factor. Although on the other hand, once you open up and start listening to some seriously stupid things you may want to get back into your shy mode.

How can I help You?

Truthbetold3 posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
RS,

You called for help and kept me waiting. You know I am a busy man.
RS-K posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
Was getting to you. Remind me to go extra biking this weekend. I spent 200 bucks coz of you man. Better use it now.
Truthbetold3 posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago

Wow!.  I really thought of posting about a reminder about biking over the long weekend because of the nice weather all around.  I have drawn up plans for riding as many miles as reaching three digits.

All Kidding aside,  this is a good time for a ride in early morning with your family.  You can enjoy the nature and get some exercise.  Let me know how it worked out over the week end.

You know you can score points with Chitra Gupta if you do well on Bike.

RS-K posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
Excuse my ignorance. I googled Chitra Gupta. No valid results jumped at me. Chitra Gupta who?
Truthbetold3 posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
Are you kidding me?

You don't know Chitra Gupta?  Did you sleep through the stories your grand mom told you?

Do you know Yama? Does that ring a bell?
RS-K posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
D-uh. Chitragupta, as in maharaja Chitragupta. One word. Not Chitra Gupta, which can be a girl's full name.
Truthbetold3 posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
Isn't Chitragupta the founding god of Kayasha?  Do they refer to him as Maharaja Chitragupta?  In south, he is considered to be the accountant of Yama or should I say Yama Dharma Raja.

In any case, whether ,  what I am saying is he is keeping count of the number of miles.
RS-K posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
Talking about this one. Lord Chitragupta. Heck, I am all confused now. Will ask my mom. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chitragupta

Anyway, while he is doing the accounting, let him count the number of times that I .......ah nm.
Truthbetold3 posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
Yes. I am talking about the same Chitragupta.  I meant no disrespect to Chitragupta by not using Maharaja or Lord.  We do not use them in south.

In fact,  Indra and Chirtragupta have pretty low respect in south , more because of popular culture than any serious understanding of religion.  In fact they are depicted as Jeevan like characters. I am not aware of any temples for either of them in South.
RS-K posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
ok. I am no authority on what happens in the north. My knowledge base is pretty random, and gathered from here and there.

Grandma - Now that you reminded me, I have memories of only one real grandma, my dad's mom. She would tell me her own stories, some topics used to be even beyond my age. But I remembered it all and all those stories made sense to me much later.

Whenever she told us any fictional stories, it always had a little loophole or a puzzle, that we were (unknown to us) supposed to catch or solve. That's how she secretly evaluated each of her kids and grandkids and predicted (or help guide) their futures. And got the biggest kick whenever any of us outsmarted her. My mom told me this much later.

I miss her.
Truthbetold3 posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
May be she left a little of her in you.   may be you can tell some of those stories to your children.
One of my favorite past times used to be telling my children stories.  May be I pased on a few nuggets of wisdom to them.

Uppili posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
Serious unscheduled exercise usually can be done only individually. Unless you have a weight lifting partner (which is a good idea) or one that requires a class or game partner... walking and cycling with family and friends is a bunch of non sense - when it comes to exercise.  Most people just chit/chat and stroll - calling it walking exercise. Or simply pedal slowly joking around and stopping everywhere...and that is cycling ?

Go on a walk with your iPod and out you go on your own - fast and furious.  Or the same with cycling - a 10 to 15 mile time-bound cycling will make you sweat.

Remember if you dont sweat then quit.  Sweating indicates satisfaction, happiness, and sense of accomlishment - in all kinds of exercise...
tejasvee posted Re:God Help Me!!! on 1 month ago
I am with you bandhu.. If you don't sweat then quit.

I always believed that and lived like that. You have put it cutely, without a sweat though!

Reason for my srs weight gain back in 2002. Had left it for years. Took it out of vending again today, as it had nothing. I got a new idea for a problem I been thinking about for weeks. While I am writing down how I will implement it, I badly need to chew on something. Anything.

All busted now. I need to go out fr lunch, and then go home time. Bah. Which means, working at home today.
