interesting that you made this thread because just yesterday I spotted this dusky indian hottie in the gym and man was she HOT. Coincidentally, at the other gym I used to go to, there was another dark indian hottie who blew my mind. Both these chix are south indian (99% sure), tall, dark, leggy and omg HOT HOT HOT. Of course I'm too much of a pu$$y to initiate a conversation with them or anything, so all I can do is stare from a distance and later, hasth maithunate to the memory.
Dark is in. Too bad my main broad is the color of pasta :(

Hope they also shed their bias for "emaciated" look.
Good to see...dark and dusky finally being seen as beautiful!
However, goodnesss.....the anorexic and emaciated looks seem terrible and so unhealthy!

Maria, I've always envisoned you as a dark, dusky beauty with long legs, full hips and sashaying gait. Ya know like how the buttaxes swing to the left, swing to the right, swing to the left..that sorta deal.

I have envisioned Maria as a lighter (125-135 lbs.) version of Jaya Lalitha with pleasant personality and disposition.
Once I was shopping at JC Penny and saw this gal, who looked like a typical telugu gal. I was 99% sure. I approached her and asked her what part of India she was from. She told me that she was not from India. She was from Karachi, Pak!!!! So much for typical telugu or whatever look. In fact, I have come across Upites & Biharis who could easily pass for SIs. There are many NIs who take pleasure in stupid statements like, "all SIs are short, dark and ugly". I used to be acquainted with an NI 'aunty' who used to say similar statements. Once I met her brother and cracked up laughing. He was short, fat and very very dark.

This is the skin fairness map of the world. If you note, India has actually 3 bands. Once you get into depth of communities, India is very varied with lots of fairness differences even within the same caste/linguistic groups.
If you see closely, UP and Bihar have the same fairness indicator as MH, KA, AP or Gujarat.

I saw an old movie last night in which two former chief ministers were dancing, prancing and romancing (NTR & Jayalalita) - lot of unintended humor:-)

To be honest...I can't really guess! Having had the experiences of all meeting all kinds of people...there is hardly any one kind of look- for any ethnicity.
I could perhaps guess a person's personality more than their looks.
But, many people do have certain perceptions when it comes to ethnicities:) I could tell you all kinds of stories..about my experiences.
