If it's any consolation, Bittu, she's prob'ly just as interested herself but can never bring herself to admit it. Infidelity is one of those things which're easier done than talked about. Best of luck.

Its equally shocking as to how some of the CHers are referring to the conscience of Billo who is shameless enough to hit on his *real world* friend's wife. In my world, its called backstabbing.
She should tell her husband, who should press charges of sexual harassment on Billo - that only can save his daughter from this sleaziness going out of hand for this middle aged fuq.
Its because none speak against this disgusting fuqhead (barring a very few) for his *consistent* leechadpana to any and all females. All are supposedly *used to* it, laughing it off or encouraging it with best of lucks.

Send her a message stating that you were drunk at the time of chatting. Apologize. Let her know that you misunderstood her state of mind because she told you what she was wearing.
IF the incident took place, and exactly the way you presented, then there is a lesson to be learned. Just because a woman is flirtatious (in person or via internet) that doesn't mean she is 'available' for you know what. It's especially true with friends and your spouse's relatives. They may be attracted to you to certain extent, but at the end of the day, they will go with their intelligence rather than feelings.

A short crisp and suitably apologetic (for hurting her feelings not for feeling the way you did) note. If you want to over do it, call and leave a message. Thats it.

Do not even try to establish contact again.
Wait for a couple of weeks. If she doesnt squirm in her seat and feel slightly guilty for not acknowledging your apology, she is probably not worth pursuing even as a friend.
Perhaps after a month, you could call and sound neutral and see how she responds. But that would be the equivalent of grovelling (sp?).

Weirdness. Anyway, I sent her an apologetic email but no ack/reply yet.
She might file a harassment complaint against you and put forward those emails as concrete evidence.
