In one of my previous blogs, I had written about the new book by Jeffrey Archer being comparable to one of his bests - Kane and Abel. I have read about 100 pages of the book. So far so good. No way comparable to K and A style. But gripping.
Lots of authors seem to be inspired by all time best-sellers.
A prisoner of Birth seems inspired by the Count of Monte Cristo. A Time to Kill by John Grisham is, in a sense though not entirely, comparable to 'To Kill a Mocking Bird'. I am at times dissapointed at what the pulp fiction writers do to all time classics - the books version of re-mix I guess. What do you people think of such 're-mixes'. A prisoner of birth by Jeffrey Archer - books version of re-mix?

i think calling un-original works as re-mixes can be misleading. well made re-mixes, in music world, still preserve the feelings and the spiritual struggle of the original work intact. some will enhace it, actually. here is a remix of "jag soona soona laage" from om-shanti-om. i think it did a good job preserving the feeling.
